White Elephants” and “Good People” are two stories about two couples attempting
to discuss having an abortion. For this essay, compare how the two couples talk
to each other and what is different/similar about the way they do so. Use two

how the symbols of the story displays
the conflict between Jig and her American—for example, the hills, the train
station and its tracks and scenery, the beaded curtain separating the couple
from the rest of "reasonable" humanity, and the train itself, along

assimilation story where the main
character and the other girls in the home are forced to let go of what they are
comfortable with (their own culture) and are expected to adapt to a new one.

to make clear comparisons.
6. Explain
what similarities and/or differences the main characters from “Lusus Naturae”
and Frankenstein share. This would be
a side by side comparison and contrast. Use two RELIABLE outside sources.
